titleOfInvention | Nucleic acids encoding CMP-N-acetylneuraminic acid hydroxylase and their use for the production of modified glycoproteins |
abstract | (57) The Abstract] contaminants by cytochrome b 5 and cytochrome b 5 reductase be substantially free isolated protein, a) a prokaryotic cell or a product of eukaryotic expression of exogenous DNA; b) catalyzes the conversion of CMP-Neu5Ac to CMP-Neu5Gc; c) is encoded by the DNA sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 or comprises SEQ ID NO: 1 completely or at least 98% thereof; d) Encoded by a DNA sequence that hybridizes to SEQ ID NO: 1 under stringent conditions; or e) if no degeneracy of the genetic code is observed, hybridizes with the sequences specified in c) -d) under stringent conditions. The isolated protein encoded by the soybean DNA sequence is useful for producing CMP-N-acetylneuraminic acid hydroxylase deficient cells. Such cells are preferably used for the production of recombinant proteins lacking N-glycolylneuraminic acid side chains. |
