titleOfInvention Improving boron neutron capture in fast neutron therapy
abstract (57) Summary The effect of fast neutron therapy is to target cells in vitro or in vivo in the presence of a boron neutron capture agent containing multiple, preferably at least 9 10 B atoms in the molecule. Irradiation with fast neutrons significantly improves. In another aspect, the tumor cell comprises a human or non-human animal comprising a boron neutron capture agent comprising at least 9 10 B atoms per molecule, wherein the boron neutron capture agent is sufficient to bind to the tumor cell. The tumor cells are treated by administering them in an amount and subsequently irradiating the tumor cells with fast neutrons. Suitable boron neutron capture agents are polyhedral boron anion derivatives, derivatives containing two polyhedral boron anion cages that are linked together to form a structure containing 20 boron atoms, closo-C 2 B n-2 H rich polyhedral carboranes, oligo Omar peptides are formed from the rich α amino boron as a compound or boron, - n, closo-CB n -1 H n - or nido-C 2 B n-3 H n It can be based on oligophosphates.
