titleOfInvention Resonant damper for piezoelectric transducer
abstract SUMMARY An audio transducer having a piezoelectric drive element (20) and a diaphragm (14) configured as a flat curved plane is disclosed. The piezoelectric device is connected to the diaphragm (14) by a lightweight and rigid bridge element (18). FIG. 3 illustrates various bridge configurations that emphasize or reduce various characteristics such as frequency response and vertical dispersion. A resonant damper (70) comprising an elastic diaphragm having a plurality of elastic flaps (78) is provided. The damper is elastically coupled to the piezoelectric device by arranging adjacent flaps to press on both sides of the piezoelectric device.
