titleOfInvention | Transesterification method |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe ester of the pentavalent phosphorus oxyacid is transesterified with an alcohol or phenol to produce the ester using a basic catalyst having a base strength of (11) or less. According to this catalyst, the conversion is further improved as compared with a strongly basic catalyst. A preferred method consists of converting triphenyl phosphate to alkyl / phenyl phosphonate by reacting an aliphatic alcohol in the presence of a medium strength hard base such as potassium carbonate or potassium fluoride. |
