(57) [Summary] The present invention relates to a device and a gel method for adjusting pH by an acidic buffering action. The brace consists of a flexible dome (10), a flexible annular outer frame (30) and an absorbent acidic buffer. The flexible dome (10) is attached at its edge to the annular outer frame (30), and an absorbent acidic buffer is contained within the brace. The absorbent acidic buffer can adjust or maintain the pH within a physiological range. The gel method for pH adjustment by an acidic buffering action is realized by applying a gel to a site where pH adjustment is to be performed. The gel contains an acidic buffering polymer that can adjust or maintain the pH of the site within a range of about 3 to about 5. |
