titleOfInvention | Solid ink jet ink |
abstract | (57) Abstract A solid ink jet ink composition suitable for hot melt applications, comprising a carrier having an electrical resistance of at least 10 8 Ohm.cm, insoluble marking particles and a particle charging agent dispersed therein. The marking particles may be pigments, insoluble dyes, polymers or mixtures thereof. Particle charging agents are soluble or partially soluble, such as metal soaps, fatty acids, lecithin, organophosphorus compounds, succinimides, sulfosuccinates, petrolium sulfonates, modified rosin esters, acrylics, vinyls, hydrocarbons or mixtures thereof. It may be a soluble resin. The solid ink jet ink composition may further include a viscosity modifier. The ink can be heated to 155 ° C. and has a viscosity of 5 to 150 cps at that temperature. |
