(57) Abstract: A lotion composition for imparting a soft, smooth lotion-like feel when added to tissue paper in an amount of about 5 to about 15% by weight, and treated with such a lotion composition. A tissue paper is disclosed. The lotion composition comprises a plastic or fluid emollient such as petrolatum, or a mixture of petrolatum containing an alkyl ethoxylate emollient, and a fatty alcohol that immobilizes the emollient on a tissue paper web. Or an immobilizing agent, such as a fatty acid, and an optional hydrophilic surfactant that enhances wettability when added to tissue paper. Detrimental effects on the tensile strength and thickness of the lotioned paper are minimized or avoided because a small amount of lotion is sufficient to provide the desired softness, lotion-like feel. |
