(57) [Summary]nMethods are provided for testing hypersensitivity to asthma. Aspirate an effective amount of sodium chloride, mannitol, or other substance that can alter the osmolarity of the patient's airway surface fluid. This material is in the form of a dry, dispersible powder that contains an effective ratio of respirable particles. The patient is then measured to detect airway stenosis, which indicates an asthmatic tendency. Similar dry powder aspiration techniques are also used for rhinitis, induction of sputum and hypersensitivity testing of mucus clearing progress. |
