abstract | (57) [Summary]nA radiation-sensitive halogen in which grains comprising a host portion of a face-centered cubic rock salt-type crystal lattice structure and a first epitaxial phase having an iodide content of more than 90 mol% occupy more than 50% of the total grain projected area. A photographic emulsion comprising silver halide grains and a dispersion medium is disclosed. The host portion has a plate shape defined by an exterior having first and second parallel main surfaces joined by a peripheral edge. The first epitaxial phase accounts for less than 60% of the total silver, and the first epitaxial phase is limited to a portion of the exterior of the host portion that includes 15% or more of the main surface. . |
