PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically active (S) -N-benzyl-3-hydroxypyrrolidine and an optically active (R) -N-benzyl- Economically produces 3-acyloxypyrrolidine. SOLUTION: (R) and (S) -N-benzyl-3 -Acyloxypyrrolidine mixture [I] is treated with a microorganism belonging to the genus Rhizopus or Phycomyces or an enzyme having a stereoselective esterase activity derived from the microorganism to act on optically active (S) -N-benzyl-3-hydroxypyrrolidine. [II] and optically active (R) -N-benzyl- It is optically resolved into 3-acyloxypyrrolidine [I '], and each is separated and collected. |
