(57) [Summary] [Problem] To obtain an aqueous adhesive excellent in initial adhesiveness in which adhesive strength is developed in a short time. SOLUTION: An aqueous polymer emulsion such as a vinyl acetate polymer emulsion, a hydrophobized water-soluble hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), and a surfactant such as a nonionic surfactant or an anionic surfactant, if necessary. To obtain an aqueous adhesive having high initial adhesiveness. Hydrophobic HEC includes a C 4-22 alkyl group or a C 6-10 aryl-C 1-4 alkyl group (particularly C 12-22 alkyl group). The proportion of each component is the resin component 10 of the aqueous polymer emulsion. 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of hydrophobized HEC and 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of a surfactant with respect to 0 parts by weight. |
