titleOfInvention | How to test digital processors |
abstract | (57) Abstract: A method of testing a digital processor using a test port to transfer trace data to a test host processor under the control of a user-definable program in response to a predetermined event. SOLUTION: Trace data is collected while an application program loaded in a program memory 61 is executed by a digital processor 11, and a trace area of the data memory 25 is provided by a user-definable code executed in response to a trigger event. At 99, the trace data is temporarily stored. Analysis hardware 121 Trigger events are also enabled by user definable code that enables various portions of 7 and trace data is transferred from the digital processor to the test host processor via the test port 1149 by sending a notification signal through the message passing register 1216; Monitor message passing registers for handshake signals. |
