abstract |
(57) [Problem] To provide a simple method capable of economically producing a dihydropyran derivative with high productivity and high yield. SOLUTION: An aldehyde and a diene compound are reacted in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst to produce a 5,6-dihydro-2H-pyran derivative represented by the general formula (III). A compound having a lower coordination force to a Lewis acid than that of the compound and having a function of coordinating with the Lewis acid to dissolve the Lewis acid in a solvent (excluding nitro compounds) is used.
