abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a material for removing harmful gas which is hardly deteriorated in harmful gas removal performance and easy to manufacture. SOLUTION: The material for removing harmful gas is for removing harmful gas harmful to living organisms, and at least one kind selected from the group consisting of magnesium, strontium, zirconium, chromium, cobalt and platinum. It is obtained by subjecting an activated carbon precursor containing a metal to one of carbonization and infusibilization, followed by an activation treatment.
