abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method of manufacturing a barrier rib capable of obtaining a high-precision, high-quality barrier rib free of defects on the entire surface of a panel. A substrate provided with a relief pattern is provided. A method for manufacturing a barrier rib by embedding a barrier rib material in a portion where a relief pattern is not provided and removing the relief pattern, wherein the relief pattern is embedded with the barrier rib material in a state not containing an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal. In a method of manufacturing a barrier rib of a plasma display and a method of embedding a barrier rib material in a portion of a substrate provided with a relief pattern, on which a relief pattern is not provided, and removing the relief pattern to manufacture a barrier rib, the relief pattern is made of an acidic solution. A method of manufacturing a barrier rib for a plasma display, which comprises embedding a barrier rib material after the treatment.
