abstract A tertiary amine catalyst used for the production of polyurethane foams generally has an unpleasant odor and many have high volatility due to low molecular weight. The release of tertiary amines during the polyurethane foam manufacturing process can cause significant safety and toxicity problems, and the release of residual amines from consumer products is generally undesirable and free of these problems. A catalyst is needed. SOLUTION: An organic polyisocyanate and a polyol are combined with a blowing agent, a cell stabilizer and a compound represented by the following formula I or II, or any compound of the compounds I and II. The present invention provides a method for producing a polyurethane foam, comprising reacting in the presence of a catalyst composition containing:
