titleOfInvention Water storage tank
abstract (57) [Summary] When storing water for a long period of time, the stored water is prevented from spoiling or generating odor. A crushed body obtained by crushing a small amount of radioactive rare earth ore in a tank body 1 made of reinforced concrete, steel plate, FRP, or the like. Alternatively, a fired body B obtained by mixing a trace amount of radioactive rare earth ore powder with a ceramic raw material and firing the fired body B, or a crushed body obtained by crushing the fired body B is stored and submerged. The fired body in water decomposes water stored by radiation into hydrogen ions and hydroxyl ions, which are negative ions. The hydroxyl ions combine with and fix organic substances and metal ions present in the water, thereby preventing decay of stored water and the generation of odor.
