titleOfInvention Semiconductor laser device
abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To stably generate laser oscillation in a fundamental transverse mode and to generate stable laser oscillation at a single wavelength up to a high optical output. SOLUTION: An active layer for generating stimulated emission light, a striped waveguide structure in which the stimulated emission light is guided, and absorption of the stimulated emission light for the stimulated emission light periodically fluctuate in a waveguide direction. An absorptive diffraction grating having a distribution of light absorption, wherein the absorptive diffraction grating is arranged inside and around the stripe-shaped waveguide structure, and the stimulated emission light has a periodic variation in the absorption. A distributed feedback type semiconductor laser device that receives laser beam distribution feedback at a single wavelength and performs laser oscillation at a single wavelength, wherein the absorptive diffraction grating has an absorption loss from a central portion of the striped waveguide structure to a peripheral portion thereof. It has a light absorbing layer distributed so as to increase toward it.
