A server for a distributed system, comprising: (a) resident on a server that executes on the server in response to initiating a network connection with a special client; Multiple server computer code segments; (b) a presentation engine that coordinates the flow of messages to the user interface or execution framework; (c) receiving multiple messages and specifying which messages should be handled by which part of the execution framework. A client computer code segment that contains a mediator state machine that determines and sends messages to the execution framework for further processing.
