titleOfInvention | Lithographic printing plates containing a hydrophilic amphoteric block copolymer and processing solutions for such plates |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the hydrophilicity of a non-printing area on a surface of a DTR lithographic printing plate without adversely affecting ink receptivity of the printing area. A lithographic printing plate that operates according to a silver salt diffusion transfer reversal method is disclosed. The lithographic printability of the plate is increased by introducing a hydrophilic amphoteric block copolymer comprising a non-ionic block of acrylic units having side chain nitrile groups and an acrylamide (gin) block containing units having side chain basic and acidic groups. Can be improved. The hydrophilic amphoteric block copolymer is preferably present in the image receiving layer of the lithographic printing plate. In another embodiment, the block copolymer can be used in processing the plate or be present in a processing liquid applied on the plate during printing. The hydrophilicity of the printing plate surface is determined by the ink in the printing area. Improves without reducing acceptability. |
