titleOfInvention Fuel assemblies for light water reactors
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a fuel assembly having excellent design flexibility and economic efficiency. SOLUTION: A fuel assembly for a light water reactor is provided in a cladding tube 15 by using a vibration-filled fuel rod filled with a diluent granule 31 which is a non-nuclear fuel material having a small neutron absorption cross-sectional area mixed with a granular nuclear fuel material 16. Make up the body. The filling volume ratio of the diluent granules 31 is set to 20% or more on average in the aggregate, and a burnable poison is added to the granular mixture of the nuclear fuel material 16 and the diluent granules 31 as necessary.
