abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and efficient method for extracting a lower alcohol contained in a non-polar or low-polar organic solvent, and a method for promoting a transesterification reaction and the like using the extraction method. SOLUTION: An alcohol extraction method and a transesterification method comprising adding perfluorononenyloxyisophthalic acid (I) to a non-polar or low-polar organic solvent containing a lower alcohol to form a fluorinated complex (II). A method for accelerating the reaction, comprising allowing the compound (I) to coexist in a reaction system such as a reaction.
