(57) [Problem] To develop bacterial cellulose in which the major diameter of a ribbon-shaped microfibril is changed and various physical properties, particularly, an elastic modulus are improved. SOLUTION: The above-mentioned problem is solved by culturing a bacterium capable of producing cellulose extracellularly in a medium containing a cell division inhibitor or an organic reducing agent to produce cellulose. |
