PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of non-condensable gas accompanying a slurry when extracting a slurry of an aromatic carboxylic acid generated from an oxidation reactor, thereby increasing the utilization efficiency of an oxygen-containing gas. A method for producing an aromatic carboxylic acid and an apparatus therefor are obtained. SOLUTION: A deflector 10 is provided on an inner wall on the downstream side of a stirring flow 11 of a reaction liquid from an opening 9 of a slurry discharge passage 8 of an oxidation reactor 1, and an alkyl aromatic compound is supplied from a raw material introduction passage 6 to a solvent and a catalyst. Gas introduction path 7 , The agitator 3 is rotated, and the slurry containing the aromatic carboxylic acid to be produced is extracted from the slurry discharge path 8 to reduce the amount of non-condensable gas accompanying the slurry. |
