abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and inexpensively produce hypoxanthine which is a precursor of inosine and inosine acid used as an umami component. SOLUTION: A microorganism belonging to the genus Pseudomonas having an ability to produce hypoxanthine is cultured in a complete medium supplemented with adenine, preferably a complete medium supplemented with adenine adjusted to pH 7.5 to 10.5 to produce and accumulate hypoxanthine, By collecting this, hypoxanthine is produced. |
