abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a toner and a toner which is excellent in low-temperature fixing property, offset resistance and blocking resistance, and has high fixing strength. SOLUTION: A resin composition for a toner mainly comprising a vinyl-based copolymer comprising a styrene-based monomer and a (meth) acrylate-based monomer as constituent units, and a crystalline compound having a low melting point. The vinyl copolymer comprises a low molecular weight polymer component having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of 3000 to 50,000 and a high molecular weight polymer component having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of 100,000 to 5,000,000. The low-melting crystalline compound is contained in the resin composition in an amount of 1 to 30% by weight, and the proportion of the low-melting crystalline compound present on the surface of the resin composition is 50% or less. |
