abstract |
(57) [Summary] (with correction) [PROBLEMS] To provide a device for sealing percutaneous puncture of a blood vessel. An instrument for achieving rapid hemostasis at the end of a catheterization procedure, comprising a hemostat infusion device for use with a conventional introducer sheath used to access a blood vessel. The infusion device includes an elongate tubular member having a discharge port near a distal end thereof. A hub member is at the proximal end of the tubular member and includes an elongated groove or track with a transparent cover on its surface. The enclosed track is in fluid communication with a lumen extending through the tubular member. After the catheterization procedure, the instrument is inserted into the introducer sheath. |
