abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bisphenol A production catalyst comprising a strongly acidic ion exchange resin modified with a sulfur amine compound, a catalyst whose degree of modification by the sulfur amine compound is easily adjusted, and a bisphenol A using the same. A manufacturing method is provided. SOLUTION: A catalyst for producing bisphenol A, comprising a modified strongly acidic ion exchange resin A modified by 10% or more with a sulfur amine compound and an unmodified strongly acidic ion exchange resin B. A method for producing bisphenol A, comprising filling a reactor with the bisphenol A production catalyst, and then supplying acetone and phenol to the reactor to cause a reaction. |
