(57) [Summary] [Constitution] The 775th histidine residue of glucose dehydrogenase (hereinafter, GDH) having pyrroloquinoline quinone (hereinafter, PQQ) derived from Escherichia coli (hereinafter, E. coli) as a coenzyme is replaced with asparagine. A modified PQQGDH enzyme protein produced based on a gene encoding a modified PQQGDH enzyme protein substituted with an amino acid residue selected from, aspartic acid, serine, tyrosine, or lysine. [Effect] The modified PQQGDH has excellent substrate specificity and acts specifically on glucose, so that it is useful for quantification of glucose in clinical tests and food analysis. |
