abstract (57) Abstract: A biocompatible material which is excellent in safety, has both blood compatibility and affinity for a cellulose membrane, and is particularly suitable for a material having antithrombotic properties. To provide a soluble cellulose derivative used as a material or the like. The soluble cellulose (A) is reacted with a copolymer (B) containing a structural unit of a phosphorylcholine group-containing monomer (b1) and an epoxy group-containing monomer (b2). A soluble cellulose derivative in which the copolymer (B) is covalently introduced into the soluble cellulose (A), and a biocompatible material comprising the soluble cellulose derivative.
