abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a light-emitting display element with low power consumption and long life. SOLUTION: An Al film 3 is formed on a substrate 2, and an yttrium film 4A and an yttrium oxide film 4B having a body-centered cubic crystal system are formed thereon to form a cathode electrode 5. On the yttrium oxide film 4B, an electron transport layer 6, a hole transport layer 7, and an anode electrode 8 made of ITO are sequentially formed. As described above, by forming the yttrium oxide film 4B on the surface of the cathode electrode 5 joined to the electron transport layer 6, electrons can be easily injected from the cathode into the electron transport layer 4B. Therefore, a light-emitting display element with low power consumption and a long cathode life can be realized.
