(57) [Problem] To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent capable of expressing a high pretilt angle and producing a liquid crystal display element having excellent stability of the pretilt angle. Provided is a liquid crystal aligning agent capable of manufacturing a liquid crystal display element having excellent electric characteristics. Provided is a liquid crystal aligning agent capable of forming a liquid crystal alignment film having excellent film thickness uniformity. A liquid crystal aligning agent comprising a solution containing at least one polymer selected from a polyamic acid and an imidized polymer thereof, wherein at least one solvent represented by the following formula (i) is 5: 9595% by weight.
