[Effect] Since kaurelpenin has an excellent inhibitory action on pancreatic lipase activity, ingestion of a functional food or food additive containing kaurelpen, a pancreatic lipase activity inhibitor containing kaurelpenin as an active ingredient, reduces fat in food. Since the absorption from the intestinal tract is delayed and the absorption of cholesterol is also delayed, the onset of adult diseases, particularly hyperlipidemia, can be suppressed, and arteriosclerosis can be prevented and treated. In addition, cowl penin can be obtained inexpensively because it can be obtained in large quantities from seaweed by an extraction operation and simple purification. |
