abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant sigma factor gene which can constitute a plant RNA polymerase and has a function of recognizing and binding a promoter region. SOLUTION: A part of Arabidopsis thaliana rpoD cDNA is obtained by polymerase chain reaction using a synthetic oligonucleotide primer prepared based on an Arabidopsis thaliana gene (amino acid sequence) similar to a sigma factor gene of a cyanobacterium or a microorganism. Then, by using this as a probe, a DNA encoding the rice sigma factor having the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 2 in the Sequence Listing is obtained. |
