abstract | (57) [Problem] To efficiently produce dimethyl carbonate using synthesis gas without using high-purity methanol and carbon monoxide. SOLUTION: (1) First reaction step 4 for producing methanol from synthesis gas, (2) Gas for separating the reaction product from the first reaction step into methanol and unreacted synthesis gas by gas-liquid separation. Liquid separation step 6, (3) circulation step 7 for recycling unreacted synthesis gas from the gas-liquid separation step to the first reaction step, (4) first separation step 8 for separating carbon monoxide from the synthesis gas (5) Dimethyl carbonate is produced through a second reaction step in which dimethyl carbonate is generated by reacting methanol from the gas-liquid separation step with carbon monoxide and oxygen from the first separation step. (6) The reaction product from the second reaction step 13 may be separated into dimethyl carbonate and unreacted methanol, and (7) the unreacted methanol may be recycled to the second reaction step. |
