abstract |
(57) [Problem] To provide a method for producing fine particles of tungsten carbide. SOLUTION: A precursor compound is reacted with a mixture of hydrogen and a carbon source gas, and the precursor compound is heated in the presence of the gaseous mixture while controlling a heating rate for a time effective for producing tungsten carbide, thereby obtaining a stoichiometric amount. Precursor compounds are simultaneously reduced and carburized by preventing the formation of less than a stoichiometric amount of tungsten carbide, thereby forming tungsten carbide fine particles from the precursor compounds. |
