abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating tungsten carbide / cobalt by recycling used and unused tungsten carbide and scrap (tungsten / cobalt composition) of a tungsten-based product. SOLUTION: The tungsten / cobalt composition is 850. C. and oxidize at a temperature of at least 100.degree. C., and a portion of the resulting oxidized composition is digested in an acidic aqueous solution to form a slurry of a dissolved cobalt composition containing solid tungsten species, which precipitates cobalt hydroxide or cobalt oxychloride. Neutralize the slurry at an effective pH to separate the liquid components from the solid components of the slurry. |
