abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a fluorinated hydrophilic polymer by a novel production method. SOLUTION: The fluorinated hydrophilic polymer according to the present invention comprises, in a precipitation medium, at least one kind of at least one nonionic hydrophilic monomer containing at least one perfluoroalkyl side chain. It is obtained by radical polymerization of a monomer mixture composed of various monomers and, if desired, one or more ionic or ionizable hydrophilic monomers. These polymers are particularly advantageous as thickeners and additives in multipurpose fire fighting emulsifiers.
