Assembly for thermal dye transfer |
abstract |
(57) Abstract: Provided is a thermal dye transfer system using a dye receptor which does not require a post-treatment fume step and has an increased dye reprotonation rate. SOLUTION: (a) A dye containing a dye dispersed in a polymer binder, which is a deprotonated cationic dye capable of being reprotonated into a cationic dye having an NH group which is a part of a conjugated system. A dye-donor element comprising a support having a layer, and (b) a polymeric dye image receiver in superposed relation to said dye-donor element such that said dye layer is in contact with said polymeric dye image-receiving layer. An assembly for thermal dye transfer comprising a dye receiving element comprising a support having a layer. A polymer wherein the polymeric dye image-receiving layer has a Tg of less than 19 ° C. and has no or little acidity, and a saturated hydrocarbon backbone capable of reprotonating the deprotonated cationic dye A mixture of polymeric acids having the formula: |
