titleOfInvention | Method for producing aromatic-substituted chlorinated hydrocarbon |
abstract | (57) Abstract: Aromatic substituted chlorinated hydrocarbons such as high-quality cumyl chloride (1,4-bis (α-chloro-isopropyl) benzene, p-DCC) which can be used as an initiator for cationic polymerization. To provide a simple and efficient method for obtaining A tertiary alcohol such as 1,4-bis (α-hydroxy-isopropyl) benzene or the like is added to a mixture of hexane and hydrochloric acid and stirred, and the organic layer is dried without drying with calcium chloride or the like. By performing the recrystallization operation, an aromatic-substituted chlorinated hydrocarbon is obtained with high quality and high yield. |
