(57) [Abstract] [Objective] To increase the utilization rate of nickel hydroxide used as an active material in a nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery, and to reduce the conductivity of the active material even when discharge is performed in a load connection state. It is possible to obtain an excellent charge / discharge characteristic without causing a decrease in the utilization rate of the battery. In the nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery, at least one of a manganese compound, a bismuth compound, and an aluminum compound is added to nickel hydroxide whose particle surface is coated with a cobalt compound having an average valence of cobalt larger than 2. Was used as an active material. |
