abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid processing apparatus using an electrodeless arc tube with a simple structure, to increase the processing capacity and to uniformly process a large amount of fluid. A plurality of elongated arc tubes are arranged in parallel in a pipe, and an induction coil is wound around the pipe. High-frequency power of 1 MHz or more is applied to the induction coil 2 from a high-frequency power supply 3, and the discharge gas in the arc tube 1 is discharged and lit by a magnetic field from the induction coil 2 to emit UV light. A fluid 5 such as water or an organic solvent flows through the pipe 4, and the fluid 5 is exposed to UV light to perform processing such as sterilization and polymerization.
