abstract | (57) [Summary] In the present invention, a dialkyl oxalate is reacted with a phenol compound in a first step to produce a diaryl oxalate, and then, in a second step, the diaryl oxalate is subjected to a deCO reaction to remove the CO. Generating a diaryl carbonate and a by-product carbon monoxide, and subjecting the diaryl carbonate and a polyvalent hydroxy compound to a polycondensation reaction in a third step to produce a polycarbonate and a by-product phenol compound, thereby separating the phenol compound.
