titleOfInvention | Bacterial rhodopsin, bacterial rhodopsin gene, recombinant DNA and method for producing bacterial rhodopsin |
abstract | (57) [Summary] A bacterial rhodopsin (b) consisting of the following amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 (a) or (b): Bacterial rhodopsin having an amino acid sequence in which a plurality of amino acids are deleted, substituted or added, and having bacterial rhodopsin activity, and a bacterial rhodopsin gene (a) encoding the following protein (a) or (b): A) a protein consisting of the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1; (b) a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence in which one or more amino acids have been deleted, substituted or added in the amino acid sequence (a), and having bacterial rhodopsin activity. Culturing a transformant or transductant containing the recombinant DNA inserted into the vector DNA in a medium and collecting bacterial rhodopsin from the culture; A method for producing bacterial rhodopsin. According to the present invention, bacterial rhodopsin can be efficiently obtained by obtaining and expressing a bacterial rhodopsin gene from a highly halophilic bacterium having no light-driven proton pump activity. |
