abstract | (57) [Problem] It is an object of the present invention to provide a transcription regulatory factor for a rice branching enzyme gene that synthesizes rice starch and a gene thereof. The present inventors provide a branching enzyme gene. We found that a transcription regulatory factor binding site was present in the upstream region of the RBE1 gene. Using the sequence of this binding site as a probe, a clone encoding the transcription regulatory factor was isolated from a cDNA library of ripening rice seeds. Next, the nucleotide sequence of the isolated clone was determined, and the amino acid sequence was further determined from the nucleotide sequence. As a result, it was elucidated that the obtained clone encodes a transcription regulatory factor. |
