titleOfInvention | Protein adhesive binder and method for producing protein adhesive binder |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a protein gel induced by a divalent cation, not to substantially lose protein, and not to aggregate pigment added to a dispersed protein adhesive solution. The present invention provides a protein adhesive for a paper coating composition containing a dispersant containing a divalent cation by dispersing a protein material in an aqueous solution. The protein material is effective for use as an adhesive binder in a paper coating composition; the pH of an aqueous solution containing the protein adhesive composition can be adjusted such that the protein material substantially dissolves in the solution. A dispersant used in combination with the protein material in an amount effective to adjust to a sufficient pH, wherein the dispersant is a basic reagent containing a divalent cation; and the protein material and the dispersant A cation binding agent in an amount effective to inhibit protein gel formation induced by divalent cations in an aqueous solution containing the protein adhesive composition. |
