abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a composition for producing a sunscreen cosmetic containing zinc oxide, which exhibits a good ultraviolet shielding effect by a simple and inexpensive method. SOLUTION: The surface of zinc oxide having an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.1 μm is coated with methyl hydrogen polysiloxane in an amount of 0.5 to 10% by weight based on the zinc oxide, and coated with a cyclic siloxane. A paste for producing sunscreen cosmetics, containing 40.2 to 77% by weight therein.
