abstract (57) [Summary] In a method for neutralizing an acid and a base, a high-concentration slurry of an inexpensive calcium base substance is used as a base, and the neutralization reaction system is configured to exhibit a mechanochemical reaction. Thereby, the neutralization reaction device (system) can be made compact (miniaturized), and a neutralization method excellent in efficiency and economy can be provided. SOLUTION: In the method of neutralizing an acid-containing aqueous solution with a calcium-based basic substance, (i) a method of preparing a high-concentration slurry of a calcium-based basic substance composed of solid particles as a base neutralizer for the acid-containing aqueous solution. (Ii) .The acid-containing aqueous solution and the high-concentration slurry of the calcium-based basic substance, under the condition that the solid particles of the calcium-based basic substance in the high-concentration slurry exhibit a mechanochemical reaction under shearing force, Neutralizing the acid-containing aqueous solution with a calcium-based base substance, wherein the neutralizing treatment is performed.
