titleOfInvention | Catalyst for olefin polymer production |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new class of conjugated allyl-cycloalkadienyl dianions useful as catalyst precursors for the production of olefin polymers. SOLUTION: The following formula: Wherein L is a cycloalkadienyl ligand; W, X, Y and Z are each hydrogen, a hydrocarbyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or a silyl group, which can be bonded to L via a bridging group containing at least two Group IVA atoms. However, one of X, Y and Z is Negative charge stabilization selected from the group consisting of group IVA trialkyl groups, aryl groups, heteroaromatic groups, ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon groups, acetylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon groups, ketone groups and aromatic organometallic moieties Catalyst precursor) is provided. This catalyst precursor is useful for olefin polymerization when combined with a compound containing a metal from Groups IIIB-VIII or the lanthanide group and an activating cocatalyst. |
