titleOfInvention Production method and production equipment for metallic iron
abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To invent a technology capable of efficiently obtaining high-purity metallic iron even from iron ore having a low iron component content without causing erosion of refractories or the like. Filed a patent application (Japanese Patent Application No. 8-59801). An object of the present invention is to provide a manufacturing method and equipment which can utilize the basic technical concept of the above-mentioned prior invention and can efficiently carry it out on an industrial scale. SOLUTION: The equipment of the present invention produces metallic iron from a raw iron oxide compact 4 in which a carbonaceous reducing agent is present. A transfer member for transferring the compact 4 in the horizontal direction (hearth 46, etc.) And a heating and reducing mechanism (reducing burner 48), and a heating and melting mechanism (the melting burner 6) for heating and melting the compact 4 discharged from the heating and reducing apparatus 23. The gist of the present invention is to include a melting device 12 provided with 1) and a separation device 13 for separating the molten slag 53 and the molten iron 54.
